The 2024 Jock Soutar Singles and Doubles Tournament brought together 40 players from around the world, showcasing some outstanding Racquets over the course of the event. In the singles final, Will Hopton faced Henry Smith in a match that lived up to expectations. Both players put on a strong display, but Hopton's precision and control proved too much as he secured the title with a 15/8, 15/8 victory. In the doubles semifinals Hopton and Shenkman proved too strong for Jon Crowell and Adrian Kemp, advancing with a commanding performance. Meanwhile, the Lumley’s overcame the pairing of world champion Ben Cawston and John Broussard in another closely contested match.
The doubles final saw Hopton return to the court with Simon Shenkman to take on John and Tara Lumley. Hopton and Shenkman were in top form, combining their power and tactical awareness to dominate the match, winning 15/4, 15/5. Despite the Lumley’s best efforts, they fell short to a dominant pair who were in deadly form!
